Privacy Policy

Last updated: October 2026

1. Our core principle: your data stays with you

Al Sharq is a collection of free online tools (calculators, converters, generators, text and image utilities) that run entirely in your web browser. When you use a tool โ€” for example compressing an image, counting words, or generating a QR code โ€” the processing happens locally on your device. Your files, text, and inputs are never uploaded to our servers, because we do not operate application servers for these tools.

This is the heart of our privacy promise: there is no account system, no user database, and no record of what you typed into any tool. If you close the page, your inputs are gone.

2. Who is responsible for this site

Al Sharq (alsharqservices.com) is an independent project run from Pakistan. For privacy purposes, the Al Sharq project team is the party responsible for how data is handled on this site. If you have questions about this policy or want to exercise any of the rights described below, use our Contact page or write to contact@alsharqservices.com.

3. Information we do not collect

We do not require accounts, sign-ups, or logins. We do not collect names, email addresses, phone numbers, or the content you enter into our tools. We do not buy, sell, or trade personal information โ€” there is nothing to trade, because we don't hold any.

4. Information collected automatically

Like most websites, our hosting provider may record standard technical log data (such as IP address, browser type, and pages visited) for security and operational purposes โ€” for example, to block abuse or diagnose outages. These logs are kept only as long as needed for those purposes and are not combined with any other data about you.

5. Analytics

We may use Google Analytics (GA4) to understand, in aggregate, how the site is used โ€” for example, which tools are popular and which pages load slowly. Analytics data is collected in aggregated or pseudonymized form; we do not merge analytics data with anything that identifies you personally. If you prefer not to be measured, you can block analytics with any standard ad-blocker or browser privacy setting โ€” the tools will still work normally.

6. Cookies and local storage

We use browser local storage (not tracking cookies) for purely functional preferences โ€” for example, remembering your light/dark theme choice or whether you dismissed the app-install banner. This data never leaves your device and contains nothing that identifies you.

Separately, third parties described in section 7 may set their own cookies as described there.

7. Third-party advertising

We may display ads served by Google AdSense or similar providers to keep the site free. These advertising providers may use cookies (including the Google DoubleClick cookie) to show you relevant ads and to measure ad performance. You can opt out of personalized advertising at Google's Ads Settings, or use your browser's "do not track" / ad-blocking features. Our advertising configuration contains no ad code until the site owner enables it, and advertising never changes how the tools themselves handle your data.

8. Data retention

Because we don't collect your tool inputs or personal details, there is nothing to retain or delete on that front. Server logs (section 4) are kept only for short operational periods. Messages you send us via the contact form/email are kept only as long as needed to handle your request.

9. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights such as requesting access to, correction of, or deletion of personal data held about you, and objecting to certain processing. Since we hold no personal data about tool usage, most of these requests will simply confirm that we have nothing on you. To make any such request, contact us via the Contact page โ€” we will respond within a reasonable time.

10. Security

The site is served over HTTPS. Because tool processing happens on your device, the main remaining risk is the device itself: keep your browser updated and be careful about which browser extensions you install, since extensions can see page content.

11. International data transfers

Our hosting and any third-party services (analytics, advertising) may process technical data on servers outside Pakistan or your country. Where this happens, it is limited to the standard technical and advertising data described above.

12. Children's privacy

Our tools are general-purpose utilities suitable for all ages. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children, and since the tools require no accounts and send us no inputs, there is no mechanism by which children's data would reach us. If you believe a child has sent us personal information (for example via the contact form), contact us and we will delete it.

13. Changes to this policy

If this policy changes in a meaningful way, the updated version will be posted on this page with a revised date, and the "Last updated" line at the top will change. Continued use of the site after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
