CSS Gradient Generator — FAQs
What is the difference between linear and radial gradients?
A linear gradient blends colors along a straight line at the angle you choose — 135 degrees gives the classic diagonal look, while 90 degrees runs top to bottom. A radial gradient blends outward from a center point in a circle, which is ideal for glows, vignettes and spotlight effects behind headings or call-to-action buttons.
Will the generated CSS work in all browsers?
Yes. The tool outputs the standard linear-gradient and radial-gradient syntax supported by every modern browser, including Chrome, Firefox, Safari and Edge, with no vendor prefixes needed. The code is plain CSS, so it also works inside frameworks like Tailwind, Bootstrap and WordPress custom CSS fields.
Can I add more than two colors?
This tool focuses on clean two-color gradients, which cover the vast majority of design needs from buttons to hero backgrounds. If you need a third stop, generate your base gradient here, then add the extra color stop manually in the CSS — for example, insert your middle color between the two values with a 50 percent position.
Is my gradient work saved anywhere?
No. Everything happens in your browser — your chosen colors and settings are never sent to a server or stored. There is no login and no project history kept, so your design experiments stay entirely on your device at all times.
