Currency Converter — FAQs
Are these live exchange rates?
No. The rates are hardcoded approximations relative to the US dollar and are labeled clearly as indicative, not live market data. They are fine for rough budgeting and comparisons, but always check your bank or a live forex source before making a real payment or trade.
How is the conversion calculated?
Every rate is stored as the number of that currency per one US dollar. The tool first converts your amount into dollars, then multiplies by the target currency's rate. For example, with PKR at 278 per dollar, 100 USD becomes 27,800 PKR.
Why does my bank quote a different rate?
Banks and money changers add a margin to the mid-market rate and may charge fees, so the rate you actually get is worse than any indicative figure. The difference covers their costs and risk. For exact figures, ask your bank for its current buying and selling rates.
Is my data uploaded anywhere?
Your data never leaves your device. This converter runs entirely in your browser using JavaScript, so nothing is uploaded, stored, shared or tracked. It works offline too, and you can use it as often as you like with complete confidence.
