Word Frequency Counter โ FAQs
Is the word frequency counter free?
Yes, it is completely free with no signup, no account and no limits. Analyze as many documents as you like, from short paragraphs to full articles. Every feature is available to every visitor with no paid upgrades.
Is my text private?
Yes. The analysis runs entirely in your browser with JavaScript, so your text never leaves your device. We do not upload, store or review anything you paste, which makes the tool safe for unpublished drafts and confidential documents.
Is the counting case-sensitive?
No, matching is case-insensitive, so Apple, apple and APPLE are all counted as the same word. Punctuation attached to words is stripped too, which keeps the table clean and gives you true word frequencies across the whole document.
Why does it only show the top 50 words?
Most texts have a long tail of words that appear only once, which would make the table enormous and hard to read. The top 50 captures the words that actually shape your writing, and the summary line still tells you the total and unique word counts for the whole text.
